And I thought Gallery furniture offering to mow your grass was full service. Way to go above and beyond for the client. Should pay dividends.

Still sorting out the brake line issue. This particular truck has a 6” lift and we’ve been from Elk City, OK to Amarillo. No one has the extended piece but fortunately in my past life I was a pretty fair oilfield hand and can roughneck rig just about anything. We got Whit dropped off but he’ll be the only one hunting this afternoon. It’s 86° here so I ain’t mad at missing a hunt. Operation fix the brakes continues.

That weather is going to flip in the morning. Probably going to end up taking the OKC route to Wood and come through Elk City on the way home. I’ll keep you posted.

Elk City is less than an hour bro. You need to come meet me in Shamrock for wings and a beer. I’ll even tune up my guitar.

We’re 1 fitting away from “fixing” the brakes... Problem with that is the fitting is 100mi west of here i Amarillo. Dropping these guys off in the morning and headed to get it and come play mechanic again. We had a good evening. They cooked burgers and I played guitar by the fire. While I was playing a bobcat slipped up to the gut pile in camp and got a .22 Mag in the gizzards. We followed blood for 50yds into Capstick’s long grass and called calf rope. I’ll find him tomorrow when we get back from Amarillo.

A 200 mile round trip to get a fitting for your customers brake line.....that's customer service at it's finest right there! I can't get my daughter to make a 20 foot round trip from the kitchen table to the trash can to throw her trash away.

Got the brakes “fixed” and bled off, picked hunters up, nothing shot this morning (thank God!), they’re headed back to check out of the motel and will be back in an hour to load up and roll out. I slipped back behind camp and found the camp panther that was shot last night. The new group checked in at 9:07 and said they’d just left Ft. Worth so this group and them will probably pass each other on the county road.

Bout to power down for about an hour and it’ll be BTTW for the rest of the day.

Same to you bud, I’ve got my eyes glued to your spotting scope.

Sorry for the lack of updates. New customers and everyone is excited and has a bunch of questions. 23 deer on me currently not a mature buck in sight. One little 6er giving the does a hard time.

Sorry boys I was spread THIN today!!! 6 hunters, 2 counties, and one guide with a self induced headache lol. Big Layne knocked down a really nice one! He had a busted brow tine and still scored 146 4/8”. 2 other shooters seen this morning by hunters and the 1 more step scenario bit them. Peyton knocked down a yote on the way out, and I got one with the truck this morning.

Maybe just MAYBE I just caught a stroke of luck! I pulled in knowing full well that cows would be all over the back of this pasture. I noticed that the gate was open first and then saw the LO was feeding the cows up front!!! I’ve only hunted this stand once that the cows didn’t good it up and it was pretty dang good!

Sorry boys it’s been a busy night. 4 deer hit the dirt. 2 really nice bucks and 2 does. We skinned deer and then Matt and Peyton challenged Shaine and I to many games of washers. Shaine and I aren’t accustomed to losing but we lost more than we won. We poked the fire and drank those bucks dead and I am absolutely exhausted! 4:45am comes early and we’ll be back after it again. This group is awesome and a pleasure to have in camp. Ready for another productive day tomorrow! The weather man said we might get a little rain and God knows this country needs it! I’m having the time of my life and working like a rented mule. I’m definitely ready for a couple of days off at the house with the kids and turkey day with the family. With any luck one of these big dumb ones will slip up for me!

Praise the Lord it’s raining in Wheeler Co!!! Not a lot but any moisture helps this country tremendously!!! Shaine and Mr. Bob slept in this morning and will come in for doe patrol around 9:30. They kind of want to stretch the legs on their rifles nd try one at 300yds or more. Both are good shots or I wouldn’t entertain this. I might get to hunt for myself a little bit this morning.

I’m set up in a box stand that I’ve never hunted before. It’s raining pretty good now, winds about 15 NNW and 43° so sitting on the edge of a field wasn’t all that intriguing to me. As soon as it broke light I had 3 does come in with 2 small bucks of some kind. Shortly there after a bull of a buck rolled in and left with the does. Too dark to see what he was but he was built a lot like a Sherman tank. Got a doe working in now, shaping up to be a good morning.
