Hope so!! Like I said, just a few items left to do, that ain’t “got to” be done. Just stuff we want. Shelving for stuff, hooks for hanging, and just handy stuff like that. Prob the windshield paneled, and table/shelf for microwave next trip in August. The old original full length overhead book basket shelf is gonna be handy for sure. Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

YellaDog Camper looks very nice.

Nice, creative, use of flashing tape on the wood blind. Snoop looks like he's looking for targets for BB gun? Nice.

Looks dang good Dale! I forgot bout one more project still to do. Not a “have to have” I guess, but still a need. Gonna fab a game hoist/skinning frame for camp. Using some old A-frames from a hoist here at work, got some I-beam for the cross member, and using a 4-wheeler winch for hoisting up. Will have 3 hookups, short chain with S hook to transfer to when critter is raised, so you can unhook winch hook, and be free to hook up another deer. Winch on base plate with receiver hitch so it can be removed and stored inside when we ain’t using it. Pigtail will have HD alligator clips to hook to whichever battery is close by. Cuz there ain’t no sense hand winching when I can use a 2000 lb winch to do it for me. Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

Im in. We’re in Hardeman and Wilbarger. I’m late this year and haven’t got any fresh cameras out yet, but the the pics earlier in the thread look promising. Seems like I always wait until middle of summer when it’s 100+ degrees to start work on stands and feeders.

I guess Iíll slide in here. Just got a place in Stephens County so that isnít too far out of bounds. Iíve never had a lease in that part of Texas so anxious to get some feeders and cameras going. Our place is about half way between Cisco and Breckenridge.

Who would be down with a meet up for dinner and a beer one night once hunting season rolls around?! I’m in Young County but I’d drive a little ways. I think it would be was awesome to meet some of you guys that hunt near by and swap some lies! I’m off pretty much all of November which would make it easy for a lot of you guys.

Forgot I had a few pics from last weekends trip. Feeder was put out/filled June 20th. Cool buck with matching G2 kickers, and a double brow. Not actually split, but 2 individual brows. Will have a few more to follow with this buck, and his running buddy a palmated type fixing to be 9pt. Heís in the background in this pic. His G2ís appear they are gonna split soon. Lots of small bucks, does daily, but these two are the only ones with any age so far. Weíll see what the August card pull holds. Still almost 2 months of growing to go, (when these pics were taken) soooo... Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

Most of our mature bucks, still have a ways to go. Weíll see how some of them turn out. Also have a bunch of stag out here. This guy is too young to chase this year. I have one Iíve been watching four years Iím going to try and get the landowner on. Heís a monster.

Went out to the lease Monday and Tuesday to do a lttle camp work. We have needed to under pin the trailer for awhile now so we finally got that done. Filled up some feeders, fixed a few pins and plowed up some new food plots in the far back corners. Killed a 4ft rattler at dark in camp. Makes ya keep your head on a swivel! It was 105 on Monday and only 91 with 1.5 inches of rain Tuesday afternoon.

Forgot one of the plots. Weve killed a coupla good deer at this spot over the years. It's the most remote and about 1.5 miles from our fields. West of this blind there is open range for 40 miles.

I've had cameras running for 3 weeks now and I'm itching to get out there and check'em!

We're lucky to have had the rain this year. I went to the hill country last weekend, and most areas south of I20 were crispy and brown, BIG brush fire burning north of Brady.

I confuse my own self sometimes, so I can see how it prob sounded. Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

Thought this might be of interest.

Young County - 640 acres - 3 timed protein feeders open daylight to dark. Hold 3,750 pounds total. This is how much I've put in them so you can see how it varies.

Jan 10 - 3,750 pounds
Feb 1 - 1,000 pounds
March 8 - 2,600 pounds
April 18 - 2,800 pounds
May 23 - 1,700 pounds
June 23 - 3,000 pounds
July 24 - 3,500 pounds

Conclusion - deer are hammering it right now.
