Weather has been kinda warm and that pattern doesn’t look like it is breaking any time soon. We need a good cold snap. You might hit the rut right, though.

My dad and brother were successful this morning after the weather pretty much shut down the deer movement yesterday.

Jason, your dad and brother shot some nice deer. Congrats to them. Leo shot 2 himself this weekend that look a lot like those. Both were good 8 pt skims. Weather was a little on the warm side but we saw a lot of deer.

I’m heading out after our family thanksgiving on Saturday for a few days to try and get my little cousin his first deer with a bow! Going to try to use my management tag on a buck for him, but if we get later in the hunt, a doe may be just fine.

Temps are looking great. The bucks are chasing like crazy, and even though I’m not a big fan of bowhunting the rut in west Texas, I dang sure won’t complain about time in the blind! Good luck to everyone heading out this weekend.

Thanks. He is high on the list. He all but disappeared in the last week. Hopefully he returns soon so we can lay hands on him.

Default 2020 San Angelo surrounding area season thread..

Good luck fellas. The bucks are passing through my Coverts like they do when they are chasing does around or out of the pen. No pics of them eating. Just moving through multiple times a day. Seeing several bucks that disappeared when the acorns dropped. Should be hot and heavy soon if not already.

This has to be worst and unusual year for us this year. Don't know why or put our finger on the lack of deer. Talked with some others in the area and they are having the same issue. This is North of Robert Lee.

It was pretty lean on feed in irion last weekend but soon as the sun hit the horizon it was party time. Bucks out roaming all over. It’s always a tough time of yr for archery hunters in west Texas. No schedule or pattern to their movement right now. Prob be that way until early December maybe even the weekend after thanksgiving if we can get a good cold snap.

We are seeing the same thing. We finally have some decent bucks showing up on camera in the last week, but not seeing many does. Definitely not what it has been as far as top end bucks other than one giant.

Leaving Friday afternoon for 8 days. I sure hope the rut is kicking off good. I would like to see some new bucks roaming.

Definitely still pre-rut around here, some bucks kinda chasing but not much. Some decent bucks last night and this morning but nothing I wanted to take. Switched stands and just got settled in for the rest of the day.

We will be back in Fort McKavett Dec 4-6. Should we expect any rut still going or pretty well finished up out that way?

So some of us have covid, so we wonít be going to the family Thanksgiving. Since were quarantined anyway, weíre going to go spend a couple nights at the ranch. Hoping for a doe or two, or maybe one of those five-year-old six points or something. The twins are 3 1/2, may take them out for deer hunt, since I donít really need to kill anything.
