    Deer Cabin Build $/Suggestions

Hopefully I will be closing on some land soon. I am debating what to use as a cabin. I've thought about travel trailer with a metal awning built over it. Also thought about a shipping container.

What I really would like is approximately a 20x30 cabin with maybe a porch? Maybe a carport or storage area for atv & tools. Any idea on what a basic structure would cost per sq ft? It doesn't have to be fancy since this will be a hunting place. Looking for what the shell price would be and I can work on inside as time allows.

If anyone has a cheap camper for sale to get me through this season let me know. I don't plan on building until next year.

I bought 55 acres a few years ago, I went with a 12x24 TuffShed at Home Depot. I installed French doors inside the doors. 8 years, no mice inside. Cut out a hole in the back of the cabin and inserted a window unit. Works great for me and the fam.

I did a metal building on my build. It’s in the diy forum. Size wise cheaper than a cabin shell.
            Chillin in it now

I really dug your build, it’s more homey than my cabin.

Tagged. Thinking about doing something temporary until I get the $$$ to do it right. How much are you guys spending on these?

If you use cedar pickets I would suggest letting them climatize in the room for a while. I built a bar in my shop and did not do this (those pickets shrink a lot more than you think over time)

I would buy them weeks in advance and let them sit.

                          Hmmm. That's odd

Ive used them before. Pedestal mount bases, trim etc and not noticed it. This go around walls in a bathroom of a shop.

When I buy them they're stored outside ?

Bought mine at home depot. Built a cedar wall and cedar bar in my shop, butted them together and within 2 weeks they had a 1/4 inch gap between them. Might be the fact that mine isn't climate controlled?
