I Found this poll on Twitter:

2+2X4 = ?

81% say 16
3% say 15
4% say 14
12% say 13

I say all are wrong it's 10

Idk…I guess it depends on the way it’s presented? I feel like this thing needs parentheses.

2 + (2x4)
(2+2) x 4

I agree with you without them. I’d say 10 too!

I hope you didn’t go to aTm 😁. The problem is “presented” just fine and how you’d see it in a 4th grade classroom. Order of Operations….. Answer is “10”

With 10 being excluded from the possible answer list, I'm just wondering how any of the 19% came up with anything other than 16?

This explains a lot about where we are as a country. These people vote…. And more importantly, COUNT AND TABULATE the votes

BTW- I came up with “football bat” as my solution, which is as close as any of the options given

It did not say that 10 was excluded or that it was multiple choice.

It appears that of the people shown the problem, those were the answers given.

2 votes for Trump + 2 votes for Biden x 4 = 16 votes for Biden. Simple math

I see it as 10 being the right answer. And if I’m wrong I really did pick the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

Ahhh.
Well, either way, I could see the mistake in coming up with 16. But 13, 14, 15....That requires absolutely zero math skills whatsoever.
