I have a .375 Winchester that used to get a lot of use until I started hunting in places that were more wide open. Killed a fair number of deer with it, kind of a 38-55 on steroids.
Good luck ! |

I hauled my dads .308 Marlin express this trip. He’s in bad health and gave it to me about a month ago.
Ever since he keeps asking about it so I figured I’d give it some vitamin D ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

i swap out between a .45 LC loaded to 44 mag velocity and a 38/55 loaded to .375 velocity.
Either one hammers what I shoot at with them |

Levers are very cool. I mostly hunt with revolvers but occasionally break out one of my levers for a hunt. This buck was from a few years ago with my Henry .41 magnum.

Big loops slow down the lever process proven through CAS competition, they were made for gloves.
Nice pictures though ! |

I have passed on all of my lever guns. My Marlin 39 Century Limited that I got new has gone to my oldest son, who is a Marlin lever fanatic. My 2 Marlin 30-30s are going to my grandsons through my second son. All of these were made before 1971.

Excellent. 7mm-08 and 308 are both 1" or less at 100yards for 3 shots. Couple things you have to contend with, less than ideal trigger and slightly longer lock time than your typical bolt gun but the accuracy is there. The 7mm-08 has been my go to gold standard for a long time. Accurate and short easy to handle. It is an original steel frame, have never tried the alloy frame models.

My father gave my brothers and I his guns before he passed away in 2021. Last year I used his .243 to shoot a doe. This is the rifle I used to shoot my first deer with, a doe. This year I plan to get out his Winchester 94 in 30-30 to shoot something with. This is the gun he wanted me to shoot my first deer with but I just couldn’t ever get comfortable shooting it. I can’t remember if it was the open sights or the kick. I’m exclusively a bow hunter but I’ll break it out to honor him. I’ll probably have to be in bow range anyway for my eyes to work those open sights

![]() I put a Wild West Guns big loop on my 450 Marlin Guide Gun. It wasn’t a straight ‘swap’, I had to do a little filing on the end that went below the bolt to make it clear when swung down. It wasn’t hard, I just took my time- not rocket science. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Imagine a 30-30 blowed out straight, and you're not far off. It's a straight wall cartridge with a .378ish bullet. Originally it was a black powder load, in good actions it can be loaded up pretty nice now, similar to the way 45-70s are. If you've ever seen in a 375 winchester, not 375 Magnum, the 3855 has a touch longer case and a couple thousands larger bullet if I remember correctly, but in equal rifles they can be loaded to equal velocity.
That's the basics maybe somebody can chime in if they know a little more than that ![]() |

Normally reserved for pig duty, but this doe stomped and blowed herself into 240 grains of .444.
