Headed to California

Forgot to add, California is the birth place of hotrodding. Race shops. The icon long forgotten days of America. Visit those places. Take Hwy 1 from south to north. Hit the remaining dives. Lots of Americana there.

Great suggestion. Highway 1 is an awesome drive. It’s amazing how much the coastline changes as you drive further north.

First thing I did after moving out here was finish my hot rod. There’s cruises all the time.

Lived in Laguna Niguel, it’s in Orange County, first time I went into the grocery store I had to call my dad when I got back. Now this was in 1997, and the reason for the call was to ask if they had cows in California, milk was $4 a gallon then.

The weather is awesome, seafood, sushi and SoCal mexican food great, people are different. Real estate is high, real estate taxes are low, but state income tax makes up the difference. Hope you like electric vehicles, the illustrious leader Pretty Boy Newsom is outlawing new gas vehicles effective 2035.

Otherwise have fun. Beautiful areas to explore.

By the way, if you play golf, go play San Clemente public. You can see the ocean on every hole except for three of them. Just remember, the putts break toward the ocean. Learned the hard way first time I played there and all the coastal courses.

Good luck and your job sounds like a great job and a wonderful opportunity for you. I went out there to for two years. I won’t even go back to visit relatives.
