IDK the order of commonality from what I've seen to be produced currently is 5.56 (chrome lined, mil spec, etc) then your wylde (stainless, match grade, precision, etc) and then the .223 rem being the least common.

223 Rem seems to be more prevalent in the lower end rifles, but I’ll agree with your assessment overall. I see considerably more 556 and Wylde barrels in the AR platform as a whole.

I’m thinking it’s .223 Rem but will double check when I get home tonight. Gun doesn’t get used much but was low on ammo for it when I bought this.

how much did you buy? i have a 556 i shoot both out of and would do s swap if you wanted?

If you buy a new barrel get a Wylde, it should perform better generally speaking( unless you shoot thousands of rounds or full auto).
