I am helping my friend shoot cull bucks off his ranch to control his numbers and try to keep his quality up. On Nov 7, I shot a small basket 8 with my trusty .270 Remington 700 that has served me well for over 40 years. Oh crap, I forgot this is a bowhunting site! 
He immediately dropped, then got up and ran off 
! He ran behind brush, and I could not see where he went. No blood 
. This ranch has some of the thickest, thorniest brush you can ever imagine so I figured we would see buzzards in a few days.
Two weeks later, he shows back up, and a friend snapped this picture. I wish he would have shot him! He appears to be doing fine, but I am sure the would will get infected. That is the exit hole!
For those who think I never shoot anything, I “harvested” this 10 point opening weekend. Nothing really special, but a nice buck and what he is wanting shot this year.
