Longest Coral Snake I've Seen...

Up until today I had never seen a coral snake that made 24in. This morning my son (takihunter), got this bad boy in his driveway and got to "clean the barrel" of his 20ga. Head is still mostly intact. Mom collects skins from rattlers, copperheads, and corals and she gets all giddy when we can get them in one piece head to tail. Early Xmas for Mom...

This bad boy was 38 1/2in...

Wow, that is a biggun. I killed this one last week and wished I would have measured it. I hung it up to get to it later but the fire ants had claimed it in the morning.

I've lived in texas my entire life(41 years), grew up on a ranch and have spent tons of time outdoors and I've still never seen a coral snake.
