No limb string gooves on vintage recurve

Picked up an older Darton Ranger recurve and noticed there are no string grooves on the limbs. Bow is dated to 1974. I guess it's not a big deal but it's new to me.

I've got one out in the shop. I can get it to send an arrow down range but have no control of where it goes. I'm looking for someone that I really dislike to gift it to.
