Shoot all the yearling does you want. Just no yearling button bucks.

A fawn is in its first year of life. A yearling is over one year and under two years old.
Agreed here. Fawns have heads that look like calves and are generally 50-70 lbs. Yearlings, even does, will look like an actual deer even though they will be skinny, and pushing 100 lbs minimum.

On my lease,a deer without spots is in danger, no matter what you call it. Wish it wasn't that way, but it's the price I pay to have an inexpensive lease within 10 minutes of the house.

They need to start calling both of them… Young deer that have not yet reached maturity.

                Settled!!

Just want to be clear i wasn't being a smart ***, it was a legit question. I ran a lease for 4 years and would continually have to remind members that all deer without spots or horns were not does. Half way through first year our buck to doe ratio was 1 to 10 and we had a zero fawn rate.

I’m gonna try to get on this lease & Ill help control the fawn/yearling doe to buck ratio
