    Confused on License Requirements

I am confused on license requirements for my son. He is currently 15, but turns 16 in early November. I already purchased a youth license for $7. I was not given an option of the adult license at the time of purchase. Since he is turning 16 during the season, do I need to purchase any of the following in addition to the youth license already purchased -

    1. Adult License
    2. Federal Duck Stamp
    3. APH for public lands

Any link to info on this would be appreciated. Maybe my reading comprehension skills need some work as well. Any help would be appreciated.

He should not need an adult hunting license. Idk about the federal duck stamp or public hunting permit? You should call TPWD and ask them.

And he won’t need a adult license next year either.

Actually on his 17th birthday day. Same and with fishing license. They must buy an adult license at age 17

Only needs the stamp once he is 16. Annual Hunting Permit is 17.

Annual public hunt permit not needed till they are 17 but need to be accompanied by a permitted adult.

Not true. If they are under 17 at time of purchase the license is valid for a year.

Thanks Bisch. I appreciate the screen shot. I have a note into TPWD on the APH and FDS. I'm pretty sure he needs the FDS, but the APH is not needed. I think the FDS is what was confusing as it is a different age requirement from the rest.

Did you read what I quoted? Obviously not. The post I quoted said they need an adult license at 18 which is false! It's states under 17 so over 17 requires an adult hunting license just as fishing does. Now if the kid is 16 when license is purchased, then yes its good for a year but was purchased at 16.
