    Mushroom ID

    What are these? They get a little flatter as they get bigger. Pinkish brown underneath. Ruidoso NM pine forest.

    Looks like a meadow/field mushroom. Agaricus campestris.

                The above “Meadow Mushroom” is the correct ID.

                They are best when they are still in button form, but those are plenty edible still. Sauté with some butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.


                Edit: The giveaway is the pink gills. White mushroom with pink gills will always be meadow mushroom.

                  These are edible. Golden Oyster mushrooms. We have been eating them almost every night since harvesting them. We got about 12lbs this last time. My wife cooks them on the Blackstone, freezes some and dehydrates some.

                    We found a bunch of those when chasing morels at the farm in April. We left them unsure whether we could eat them.

                      My wife likes the Golden Oyster mushrooms better than Morels. We found this Chicken of the Woods this morning.

                        Only mushrooms around my place grow in cow crap . The stems even turn purple when you pick them .
