With approximately 6 weeks until the start of college football season, ignorant sports writers are looking for “click bait” to generate discussion amongst the fanatics. Basically throwing feces against the wall hoping it’ll stick, to make them look credible in the future.

Is horn going to be ok if there is no horns down penalty in the sec?

Zwerneman is a pretty good journalist. He isn't making it up and he isn't running something without a corroborating source. Inside Texas, the best Texas $9.95 site confirmed the story independently also.

Now, that doesn't mean it is definitely happening, but they have definitely had talks.

Lol, it’s a taunting penalty and only a penalty when using said gesture if taunting. That’s on the Big 12 rules committee. Players don’t give a ****.

Sorta like Mike Davis holstering the pistols, then getting flagged.

A&M wanted this public before a deal was done behind closed doors.

Current players were quoted, “it’s simply a sign that we’re in their head”. They really don’t give a ****.

Some Aggies for sure. Leaked deals are less likely to happen.

The previous administrations at Texas wanted to merge with the Pac 12, but that conference has shot themselves in the foot in a dozen different ways with the coup de grace being delivered by their handling of COVID. The ACC is a horrible geographical fit. The Big 10 is as well and they have balked at taking OU.

The current decision makers at Texas are very, very different than any of the previous regimes. The SEC makes the most geographical and economic sense. Many of the arguments arguments against joining the SEC the Aggies have made moot by joining the SEC and changing the recruiting landscape in Texas.

This was probably inevitable since A&M left the Big 12.

The state political landscape has changed enough that Texas doesn't have to drag schools along with it.

The biggest reason that this happens is that ESPN controls the money in college football. This is what they want.

                        Bingo.

Moves were made years ago in preparation for expansion today. The Big 12 had its chance to go grab some great teams (ACC or PAC) and give itself a seat at the Super conference table. Once they failed to do that, the writings on the wall for this to happen. They failed to have the vision for the future and now the TV rights are coming to an end so it’s heating up again.

For the record, I love realignment and the business side of college athletics.

Riiight… Why would OU have horn in their head?

You can probably trace it back even further when DeLoss pitched the Big 12 starting their own network and everyone voting him down. That is when Texas started working on the LHN.

Correct. LHN was created so Texas didn’t jump ship on conferences thus gave ESPN control of Texas.

                                Texas took the money.
