If you can find one, the Barrett Fieldcraft.

Curious what is the most desired Barret Fieldcraft caliber?

My buddy is the Kimber Mountain Ascent and I was super impressed with it. The bare gun is under 5 lbs according to Kimber.

I would want the threaded 7-08. But 308 and manbun were probably the most popular. They announced a 280ai before putting production on hold, which would’ve been awesome.

For the record, I love my .243 with 80 gr. Vortex.
LOL, yes, I have a load worked up for mine using the 80 gr Barnes TTSX that I like really well.

Not to derail this but what scopes are you guys running on the these ultralight rifles?? I have a ridge line with a VX5 and even though it’s light ... it still feels heavy

This would be my suggestion. I have one in 6.5X55 with a Swarovski Z3 mounted on it in Tally rings. It's awesomely lightweight and it's a tack driver with 130 grain Accubonds or 130 Swift Sirocco's.

If I was to get another Fieldcraft it would be in 7/08. Sadly, as mentioned, they have stopped production for now.

It's currently too late to get in on it, but if you're lucky maybe somebody that ordered one will have a change of heart and sell it to you.
You could always give the guys at APR a call and see what a custom one would cost you built to your specs.

A 9 lb rifle is easy to build.

My 7 mag is 8 lb 10 oz or what before I added the HS DBM. Haven’t weighed it since.

Not my definition of ultralight but super light guns are incredibly difficult to shoot for me.

Fierce is one heck of a fine rifle, and light as I've ever held.May be a tad bit more than you wanna spend, but they are legit.
