Default MD Anderson

Sitting here at MD Anderson awaiting another test prior to surgery this week. Sitting here itís easy to let your mind wander. Even though my journey this past year has landed me here, you donít have to look too far to realize you are blessed in so many ways. At least I am walking in on my own and feel healthy as a horse compared to so many others. This test is just a verification prior to surgery and it appears I have an early diagnosis unless something else is found during surgery. As many others have said this place is amazing.

Looks like hunting season may be short this year for me. I will miss the time in the stand with my grandkids but others will follow. Hopefully this doesnít sound like a poor me thread that wasnít my intent actually itís right the opposite hopefully. ďHeĒ has my full attention now and will help get us through this little journey. Thanks

Put the odds in your favor by considering the following. Your oncologist isn’t likely to tell you anything about this.

Prayers sent..
I spent many a hour there this year with my DAD.. Sitting there watching people/patients walk by can be a VERY humbling experience to say the least.. It can make you realize real quick that 90% of the crap we worry about in day to day life means little to nothing in the big scheme of things...

Well after a long 10 months of diagnosis I finally had surgery this past Tuesday. I want to thank everyone on this thread and one other thread for their prayers. The surgery wasn’t as intense as it could have been but my recovery time is still going to take a while. Again thank you for your prayers hopefully I can get out of here in a few days. No deer season for me this year.

Miracles happen every day there and all over the Medical Center. Sure am glad to hear your surgery went well. Praise God for that!
I pray for a complete recovery and good adjustment to whatever is your new norm... I pray the Lord give you many years yet here on the green side of the grass... You mentioned in this thread and the other one that "He got your attetion"... don't let go of that sir! Seek Him and follow Him and it will be well with you whether it is days He gives you or decades!

Lord God, thank You for the healing You have already done to our brother. He seeks You and Your guidance and presence. Show Yourself to him Lord that he may come and draw nearer to You that You may Bless him with many Years of service to You here. Lord, comfort him and his family as they go through the trials of recovery from the surgery. Guide them that he and his family are fully restored and strong in service to Your Lord. We ask these things through the Name of Your precious Son Jesus Christ our Savior, Amen..

Every time I'm there, I also realize how lucky I am. All you have to do is look around or talk to the person sitting next to you. I have also learned to never complain about the traffic I have to put up with on my 30 minute drive to MD Anderson, as there are folks traveling from all over the world, many quite frequently, to get the treatment we sometimes take for granted.

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. Sorry you're missing deer season, but just think how nice that buck will look with another year on him!

Update:
My post op visit with the surgeon on Wednesday went very well. He discussed the findings of the pathology report telling us from the tests ran that he did get the primary tumor and all the effected lymph nodes. Still working out some minor issues and going through the recovery process. All we can say is WOW. No chemo or follow up radiation needed with the information available to him. Thanks everyone for the prayers and “listening” to me via the green screen. God is great!
