Lots of new hotels right by the mall zip code 77494. Few miles away. Sure there are some on I-10 a little closer but since I live here, don’t use hotels in the area often.

We just finished up a hospital job there in Katy and we stayed a bunch of nights at this hotel. Clean and reasonably priced.

The area is pretty safe and has the same issues as everywhere. You will be fine there however, I would look towards the area around West Houston BMW on the north side if 10. The only issue I have with the mall area is it is a mall and lots of people shop there and it tends to attract your car burglars. Tell your son good luck, my friends son made the team 3 years ago. If you have any questions about the area PM me and ill see if I can help

Nice area. Bout as safe as your car is going to be in a a hotel parking lot. Lots of restaurants right there.

Hotels along the I-10 (Katy Frwy) corridor from Katy Mills Mall, which is actually in the City of Katy, down to Greenhouse Rd are all relatively safe. When we have large family gatherings, we usually have several family members that stay in hotels around Katy Mills Mall, and none have ever expressed any feelings of feeling unsafe, and they typically talk about how nice the hotels were.
