I thank you for documenting everything that you could keep for yourself that you share with everyone. Please keep this thread and the bonus videos going. You are doing what everyone dreams about. Congrats, your results didn’t come cheap .....labor or monies.

And more impressive is, it’s all natural the way God intentioned it.
Hey now! My 166 would be right on the money! Elgato, I'm not picky. I will settle for one of your small 6 points that only go around 150.

Heck, just keep posting the bucks that y'all harvest. That's a good enough prize! Congrats to both you and the hunter!

Appreciate you posting the joint vetch video. I've got a location that was previously a pine slash pile that's about half rotted down now. I plan to burn whats remaining, disc or till and plant there. Not sure how the pine and ash will affect the vetch. I'll probably do a soil test and adjust as needed.

The 6 point is a beast - hard to comprehend a 170" 6 along with the 250 lb. +/- body weights.

2 years of hunting this guy . 13 hunts this year for about 30 hours all sitting by an oak tree deep in the woods with brush piled around me. 3 ticks, countless mosquitos, drenched in rain yesterday and 82 degree today soaked with sweat. And finally he walked out with camera running!!!. Video to follow but for now I'm jacked. Better pics and more detail to follow.

Suppose now we can look at the scoring all posted earlier on this guy.

So I was basically lying down behind the brush I had piled around me. Had corn about 30 yards away cause I wanted it close enough to get some video . I knew if he ever came in it would be at last light. 7-8 deer were all milling around when they suddenly all looked up and I knew what was about to happen. I reached up, hit the record button and started looking for the deer. once I got the camera on him I then started trying to jimmy myself from lying down enough to get on the deer. tricky with all the eyes close enough to throw a rock.

Video didn't last too terribly long cause I'm not a professional, I was so excited I was about to puke, and all the deer were so close I didn't want to screw the deal. 7 year old I think and looks to be about 200"

Here is the tale of the tape
207 3/8"
Both main beams 26"+
Both G2's over 14"
Mass 40 4/8

Perhaps the most exciting deer hunt I have ever had. Big fun in Pineville

Interesting thing about the weight. He only weighed 195 lbs. Here is my theory. I know he is at least 7 but he may be much older. I only started noticing him last year when he looked fully mature and I thought he might be 6. But as most of you know positively aging a buck at 6 without knowing him is a crap shoot at best. So I may have been off...perhaps a lot.

So what I have seen over the years is that a lot of really old bucks ...8+ look big but don't weigh much. My theory is that they have big body frame with lots of loose skin to look big but they have started loosing much muscle mass so the weight doesn't match the appearance. Which makes me very curious how old this deer actually is.

that is my best explanation for his weight. I was startled. Will send a tooth off for best shot at age.

Thanks for the info! Yes, I agree on the weight hypothesis. I have thought/seen the same thing with a few older bucks recently... they don't really ever seem to weigh as much as you thought.
