    Finally!!!! First bow kill!!!

Man what a journey. Started as a kid then got out of it and picked up bow hunting last year again. Man is it over due!!! Been chasing deer on public up north for the last 2 weeks after chasing them on public down where I live. Was hear for 4 days and sleep deprived averaging 4 hrs a night for 5 days. Spent over 50 hrs in a stand in 4 days and never had anything in bow range. Saw 3 deer total. 2 doe and a little buck. Still was a great time! Did thanksgiving weekend at my fiancé’s in Dallas and burn out yesterday to hunt till Wednesday. Hung a new stand yesterday and spent the afternoon seeing nothing. Spent last night in my Big Agnes ultralight tent and my 20 degree bag. Enjoyed mountain house cooked over my pocket rocket stove. Figured I’d test the gear for Colorado. (Hopefully) gotta get a new pad bc my back and shoulder were killing me! Lol. Saw a bob cat this morning and that was it. Switched it up and went to a buddy’s stand he hung a couple weeks ago. Got in a 4 and right before dark (crabby) stepped out to eat. Didn’t make the best first shot, not sure what happened other than I was leaning against the tree trying not to fall off this tiny platform with no harness. 20’ is a long way to the ground. Got lucky though and was able to follow up with a second arrow. Now the hard part.. guess it will be like practice for colorado... lol. Got a long way to go!
