Why does it matter? I’ve got 250,000 on my Ford running low sulfur diesel

“” EPA mandated years back that everything was ULSD, and the only thing that isn't that is heating oil. So no running "off-road" diesel in your truck isn't going to hurt it or do anything different that the onroad will.””

The only thing it hurts is if the tax man catches you

The red dye only takes the taxes away.

Farm diesel will not hurt your diesel engine in your truck. Doesn't bother combines or tractors either.

I've ran it when I was in a bind and I can tell you that it takes many tanks of clear diesle to get it all out lol.

They changed red diesel from high sulfur to low sulfur in 2015. Should be ok now to run in newer trucks. Still wouldn’t chance it though because a lot of farmers tanks are contaminated with water and not filtered as good at the fuel stations. New trucks fuel systems are delicate.

The tax is a ripoff, if your boat runs on diesel and you fill up @ a none commercial fuel pump
You are paying taxes on that fuel, same with gasoline, and end of year can send in for a tax refund for marine use ( if you keep your records)

                        Maybe a filtering issue

It’s worked awesome in my 7.3 all these years. Glad he finally officially said it works.

I think it is just because the newer ones are POS's in comparison.

                                Probably a filtration issue.
I have owned multiple 5.9 an 7.3 diesels.
I wouldn’t go back to either of those turds over today’s diesels.
