    DIY Nilgai hunt S. Texas

I was wondering if anyone has any input on hunting the coast on S. Texas for Nilgai? Is it private or public land? Only accessible by boat? Etc. Thank you for any input!

Islands down at landcut..its old but as far as I know still legal as long as u dont get on the ranch.

If u want to go to los olmos creek in Riviera by kingsville you can park at bridge and walk or drive a ATV only to the EAST and rifle hunt...I've killed several back there by the water... dont cross fences and you are good.
Do not go west as they have deemed that only legal by shotgun w buckshot no slugs.. and if you can take one down w buckshot you are my hero.

I heard the USDA is heli hunting them, my understanding is to control the population.

What are you gonna hunt them with? Bow or Rifle?

I must be lazy but I’m not killing a Nilgai without 1 other person and hopefully two. Killing a 300 lb cow or immature bull isn’t too bad but a mature bull is a pain in the arse. I’m down in South Texas now and will pass everyone I see as usual.
