My sister lives in California and briskets are hard to come by
As tri tip Is recognizable I vote tri tip
Brisket is off the front, tri tip is bottom sirloin both = low and slow

It is a brisket. It is actually half of the flat and all of the point. You can take it to the bank.

I don’t think it’s a tri-tip. My wife’s from Bakersfield and I lived out there for a few years. We cook tri-tip often.

Tri-tip is usually more pointed and slim on the tip end. Usually has a little curve from the thick to the point also.
