Default Moving is NOT fun

Well, after almost ten years of living in the same little old house my family and I outgrew it and bought a new one. Going from 1500 sqft to 2700 sqft. The headache of getting approved was horrendous but this packing every little thing is almost just as bad! Not to mention we replaced half of the kitchen and used up all my extra dough. ☹️. This time tomorrow I’m hoping to be sitting in the new house, beer or whiskey in hand, planning our housewarming party . Here she is, what do y’all think? I got the third garage for my side by side but it looks like I may have to sell it to pay for my new kitchen. That’s okay though, in the summer time I was thinking of getting a four seater anyway.

Thank you! I do feel sort of “established “ lol. This is our first house. We have lived on family property, I knew at some point we would outgrow it and I’d have to join the world of grown ups with a mortgage. We were just lucky to find a house big enough to grow into, have my kids in a good school system (Magnolia ISD) and have a place for guests to sleep when they came over. Surprisingly this one fit our budget. We sit on a few shy of half an acre so still big enough to shoot my bow

Congrats! Sure wish I had the extra garage and the parking. Hate living in a small house but love the low house note.

Looks great. I personally think everyone should move every five years, that is the only way to get rid of some of the crap you accumulate.

Congrats

No kidding moving sucks

I still haven't unpacked and this month made 2 years in this house.

Told the wife to adjust the budget because the next move, I want to hand the keys over to movers and let them do the pickup and set up.

I'll be at the golf resort, fishing camp, or hunting lodge depending on when we move.

Like you we moved into a bigger house, but when we get older (not to far away) I want a smaller house. Of course I'm not opposed to staying here.

Moving SUCKS!!!!

30 years in the Army and I moved a few times. Been retired since '99 and have lived in this house since 2000. Next move is to the nursing home or cemetery for me.

I can agree with you on that. We just moved in August and it was a PITA but it's done and I gained a shop and covered work area on 3/4 of an acre.

I've moved 7 times in the last 10 years. Yes, it sucks!! We are now wanting to buy some acreage, build the home that we actually want, and I hope to stay there at least 15 years until we retire and then hopefully move to either the hill country or deep east Texas around Sam Rayburn. It's either that or buy the house we are renting and remodel it, and buy land for hunting. We shall see...my wife was raised in a nomadic family. Her folks idea of a relaxing weekend is driving around and looking at houses. I don't even want to try to think about how many times they've moved in their lifetime. She gets it honest, that's for sure

Very nice - congratulations. Is is amazing how much stuff one accumulates. I have things in my attic that were transferred directly from the attic in our previous house 16 years ago.

Very nice home, your family should truly enjoy living there.

Last time I moved I had to rent a storage unit for a while. Good news is they kept a very large dumpster there so let's just say I did some "cleansing" that my wife never figured out. I felt good about it anyway.

Lol the movers literally filled the truck and spent three more hours than expected. Sucked paying the extra cash but watching them take all those dressers and beds up those stairs was worth every penny. I still have some loose ends to get by Sunday but I have to admit, I really love our new house!

Congrats on the new house. We recently moved to a another house after living in the old one 34 years. Best decision made for the move was to rent 20 ft. roll off trash dumpster and set in driveway at old house. Yes you can fill one up if you get rid of old furniture and things you thought you could not live without. Good luck with the new place.

Nice house.

I hate moving. We got lucky when we moved here, because my employer paid for a mover. It was still a hassle, but much less so than if we had to pack and move everything. We just had to unpack 14 years of stuff from our last house. I am not happy with how fast this area is growing. Every empty field and wooded lot is getting bulldozed for more houses. So I want to move in the next couple of years. I am already dreading it because this one will be all us. No movers the next time haha.
