    Live in Fannin Co 11/21/20

Sitting in stand for the first time this year. I have 1 day to hunt and the pigs have been unreal, so most likely outcome is either nothing or some pork. It’s the rut so you never know deer wise.

Buckle up! So far it’s cool and really humid.

I knew dad shot a pit pig last night before he texted me #covert

What did you do to change that? Burn it to the ground? LOL

There is an amazing amount of bird life here. Makes even slow mornings entertaining. That and this blind houses it’s fair share of yellow jackets.

@Landrover I would be perfectly happy with either of these.

But I’ll probably end up like this:

Dad has a little button buck in front of him and I just rattled with some grunts and a snort wheeze.

I can hear a small deer grunting back but no sightings yet. Grunt was not from a mature animal.

Button buck in front of my Dad. I did get to watch a Northern Harrier hunting the field behind me. Big birds.

Welp, we are calling the AM hunt at noon to get some work done and scout just a bit. It’s been quiet all around.

Back at it! Had to do some work around the place and check on the bees. Dad didn’t have a suit on but was going to “stand at a safe distance” and he ended up getting lit up! Got stung on the head and right by the eye and in the soft spot under his arm. Ouch!!!!

Sure hope the cloud cover stays. Our bow/pistol stands suck in swirling and south winds, so everyone is packing rifles.

Dad is hunting with a Kliengulther 25-06 that we inherited from my uncle who was murdered while fishing beside his church by some crack heads. My cousin then inherited it and he recently passed away of a heart attack at 39 y/o and my aunt then passed it to our family. So far Dad is 100% on animals with it and it will be a family heirloom for many generations. Hopefully we get another one for the Arnold clan tonight.
