    Voting for socialism

Do you guys (democrats) really want socialism? I'm not asking about Trump, I'm asking about socialism. I could consider leaning left but there is no left, it's full fledge socialism and I can't do that. Just curious if you really believe in that concept.

I would like to see a poll, of Democrats under 40, or Republicans for that matter, who even under Socialism.
I'm betting the percentage would be real low.
They don't see any of it as "Socialism"...
Rep lean just as far right.
We seek no middle ground and resolution will never be achieved.
We have become 2 parties at war, and both hold responsibility for it.

Most people simply vote to keep free stuff.

Repackage anything to fit the current climate and people go for it. Humans are a very manipulative species.

There are at least 3 posters on here that absolutely believe in taking everything you have. Even your guns.

The end game of unfettered Socialism is the same as the end game of unfettered Capitalism, the only difference being who controls the money. In complete Socialism one Government controls the money, in an absolute Monopoly one corporation controls the money.

Neither can be trusted to exist in a vacuum and the fight is how much of one versus another should we tolerate.

There is so much more of a difference to the end game of each. Your litterly $h!tting sugar on the socialism endgame.

What does Republicans lean just as far right mean?

This is just silly. There simply too many industries and services for a 1 stop monopoly. Capitalism will always create more wealth and thus spread out more wealth . It’s not a coincidence that the more regulated industry becomes the more centralized the wealth becomes

I didn't understand that nonsense either...capitalism has competition where the consumer has a choice for any good / service. The US has proven capitalism in it's very nature has proven why we are the best country in the world & worked for so long. The consumer getting to keep and choose how they want to spend their income in a free market system keeps those that are willing to risk borrowing money to create a business on their toes always improving every aspect of the business to create profit, hire new people who then have $$$ to perpetuate the successes of capitalism.

Trying to tie the word monopoly to capitalism is a liberal talking point to discredit the entire capitalism concept that simply does not apply anywhere even remotely close to a socialist nation that has failed to advance any nation vs destroying it. It has FAILED 100% of the time. Elected officials interested in socialist or giving a govt 100% control in the same goods / services by taking the vast majority of one's income to spend how the govt feels is best in not & coot be compared in the same breath.

Those two completely different ideas of governing have already proven to have different endgames for decades...the public suffers & those in power are not affected by the same socialist laws applied to the masses. With capitalism, you a citizen with input where the elected official is beholden to those who voted them into power. Once socialism is implemented you are no longer a citizen but a subject who had lost all liberty by loss of freedoms to choose anything other than what the govt decides you need. Look at all the laws the govt has passed & are trying to (health care is a perfect example) that do not apply to the law makers themselves, but only to the citizens. Socialism only benefits those in power & why so many are pushing for it.

Like stated, a lot of these people simply do not understand the consequences or are simply too lazy to acknowledge the decades of case studies where all socialist countries are complete failures compared to what capitalism has proven for a free society. It's one of the arrows now in our quiver that the founding fathers gave us with the constitution which primarily guards us from our country turning into a tyrannical govt. This current thought process of US & socialism needs to fought / defeated by any means as it goes against freedom & liberty.

The reason that this is silly is we have anti-monopoly and anti-trust laws on the books that prevent companies from getting "too big". Mark my words, if these laws didn't exist eventually the one-stop-shop entities would swallow up the outliers and the consumer would be faced with no choice in voting with their dollar.

The U.S. has proven regulated capitalism. Our Government has had to take action in the past to break up large monopolies...had this not happened do you really think we would have the choice today we now have?

Boiling it all down its all about liberty. In "capitalism" ( free market ) people are free to charge and spend their money as they see fit. Whether it makes them rich or poor, its on them. In socialism, govt controls the money, how its earned and spent. When govt has that control, you are not free.

This entire struggle we face is ALL about liberty. The very foundation of this Country.

We seem to have forgotten that nothing in this world is free. If someone ( or entity ) gives you money, you are at their mercy. You are beholden to them. You want free stuff from the govt, you must sell your freedom for it.
