I'm havin a hankerin for some real good bbq. Who should I see in Dallas proper?

I think Dallas ranks near the bottom of the state for great BBQ joints. Pecan Lodge maybe?

I’ve always thought Sonny Bryan’s was mediocre at best and I’ve tried several locations including that one.

Oh, its not the best. I grew up eating there. Its just a Dallas institution. And the OG down here is a lot better than any of the spin off's they have.

David's in Arlington are 4th generation Bryan's. It's pretty good. They had a fire a while back so it's lost a little bit

Ten 50 is great (in Richardson). Meshacks in Garland.

I haven't been to Cattlack's but hear it is outstanding!

Hutchins is good, Lockharts on 15th st downtown Plano, 10/50 in Richardson, and then there’s always the bbq ribs on any Chinese buffet-lol

Not Dallas proper, but Zavala’s in Grand Prairie. They are closed for repairs after a pipe burst but go support them when they are back.

It’s my cousin’s spot.

Pecan Lodge and Terry Blacks in Deep Ellum
Never tried the Frisco Hutchins but the McKinney location has always been one of my favorites (when it's not on fire)

Leave Dallas proper and head to Hurtado’s in Arlington. You won’t be disappointed.

Check out “ Slow Bone” it’s just west of downtown Dallas. Can’t think of the road but I thought it was pretty good.

Can't speak for Dallas but if Terry Black's in Dallas is anywhere near as good as the one in Austin that is where I would go.

I thought Randy White bought the Frisco location. Randy White's BBQ. We've had dinner there a few times. A couple of them with Randy White sittin with us.

Hutchins for sure- they gotta a Texas Twinkie- big pepper stuffed with brisket And cream cheese wrapped in bacon and smoked , it’s killer. And their regular barbecue is as good as it gets .

Unless Meshacks has improved drastically in the last 20 years it is nowhere near the level of Pecan Lodge or Lockhart Smokehouse.

I ate there the day after the fire at the McKinney location a couple of months ago. I didn't see Randy's name anywhere, but wasn't looking for it.

when they open again, we try to go there for lunch, but man if you don't line up @ 10:00 it makes far a helluva wait ... but there brisket is awesome,, no dang sauce neeeded
