Little heads up, some Colorado towns are hiring folks to patrol for mask less visitors. They also will have curfews on bars and restaurants as told by Denver news. Breckenridge for sure will have folks watching in town.
Skiing should be great but avalanche danger is extreme all over the Rockies. Here in Wyoming we are getting more open. Our local bars and restaurants have indoor seating and are welcoming more patrons in now. We've seen an increase in visitors from out of town lately at our friends establishment. Masks are required in stores, grocery etc but for restaurants and bars, no masks to speak even though we are supposed to wear them while moving about but not at tables. Jackson, Teton County, is still pretty closed and masked up though. Travel safe folks, snow is great for skiing but be very careful in the backcountry skiing or snow machining. |

Was in Breck two weekends ago, COVID protocols were about the same as they are here, with the exception of capacity and people being more vocal towards you if you don't have a mask on. Just put the mask on where it says and you'll be good. I'm hopefully headed up to Sheridan on Friday, weather looks pretty good next week.

We have a little front coming in on Thursday but not a big deal, travel safe and enjoy. It will be snowy up there I bet.
Breckenridge is the one town that stated they were hiring 2 people to patrol for covid restrictions and mask mandate enforcement. Like you said just wear it. Also camping reservations system is opening for RMNP wilderness camping. |

We're going to New Mexico, and they announced less protocols last week.
I'm all the way done with the mask morons...my wife is worried I'll get us kicked out of town...and I might. There are too many stupid people in positions of power... |

We were in Vail three weeks ago and it was relatively laid back. The mandates were in place but most locals are just wanting to get back to normal and not be shut down again. Ski patrol at most all lifts reminded people of face coverage if not up high enough. Someone mentioned only two individual this season have had passes pulled for non compliance. Lift lines on the weekend were longer with seating rules though. There must be a space between riders if not together as a group. A single rider line moved slowest having to wait for a correct group size to accept riders. I would imagine restaurants will be a larger issue over the holiday. My wife spent a lot of time either looking for us a place to eat or making reservation to help with 25% occupancy. There was talk that it could possibly increase soon. It still was a great trip and got lucky with a lot of fresh powder most days.

Just giving a heads up. Whether or not you agree, I care not.
Just trying to save some grief for you all visiting up this way. Not sure if any fines but be prepared to get accosted if not wearing in some Colorado towns. https://www.thedenverchannel.com/new...g-spring-break https://www.townofbreckenridge.com/l...-19/-fsiteid-1 Enjoy the skiing but stay in bounds. |

We were in Breck the first of the year and they were pretty strict. Signs all over the outside area of downtown requiring masks while outside. The ski resorts were worse and we were reminded quite often that our mask needed to be over our nose on the lifts, so much for that fresh mountain air.

The masks and lack of bar and grills sucks. The bar is a big part of an older snowboarders trip. Lol.

It's not just Breck, seems the ski places are pretty strict in general. They're probably worried about people afraid to come out and ski if masks aren't being enforced. Snowy Range has been really bad, they're not interested in having maskless people on the slopes at all. I don't wear masks anywhere but we're going this week and next week and I'll be masked up, can't help it as I want to ski and they've got my money already.

And for those afraid of the signs out front of businesses, they're just signs. Very few of the people who work there even pay attention to this BS. And if they request you do your business elsewhere, just go to another place. You don't even have to get loud or cause a scene; just go somewhere else. The free market will work itself out. Well, maybe not in Colorado. I absolutely do not understand/comprehend the blind, immediate, sheep-like compliance by the masses to obey some silly mandates for face masks that don't "protect" anybody. |

Well I’m surprised Wyoming is going along with the mask stuff. I would have guessed different. Colorado you would expect but not Wyoming.
Of course our state park system is still limiting people for social distancing and has a picture of a lady in a mask on their homepage. But we have Abbott so that is not a surprise. |

EarleyBird I get it. And yes it is as a heads up. I'll just say, remember the young server that asks you to put it on is just doing their job. They probably don't want to say anything and the young folks pouring my beers locally are sure happy to be working and not drawing unemployment. They want to make money. Is it worth getting asked to leave ? For some maybe yes, making a scene is getting your point across but I'm betting cops get called and no one wants to deal with that. Fines or jail, better not be either but I'm betting you get tossed from the establishment. I think you all can find places that are relaxed on restrictions, just look around and go with the flow. If you're going into the mountains be careful. https://www.avalanche.state.co.us/accidents/us/ |

Wife is in town with me this time, very pleased to hear that! The Library is definitely back on the radar when we get over that way. We haven't made weekend plans yet, might go do some hiking at higher altitudes or general exploring. It's going to be HOT this weekend though.

FireNguns you may enjoy a snow machine day trip in the Snowies. Look up 3C guiding or Albany Lodge for rentals. A guided day trip would be awesome and safe, lots of snow up top right now.
If Bear Bottom is open in Centennial, eat there at least once, good friends own it. |

Montana just stopped a mask mandate, counties can have one. In most areas nobody enforces them.
The bad news is our snowpack is low. I don’t the base at Big Sky or Bridger Bowl near Bozeman. People are getting concerned about summer fires. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Most fast food places don’t even open the doors. All transactions go through the drive up window. Grocery still has one entry, one exit. You could wait an hour or more in your car to get into a nice sit down restaurant. I’m sure it’s a more restrictive world from what y’all are seeing back home. |

Word is out Wyoming is lifting mask mandate and opening back up on March 16. Governor will have an update this week. Bars , restaurants, theaters etc. back at full capacity and no masks.
Creeks are starting to lose ice and fishing will get good next couple of weeks or so, after our next cold front bringing snow . I'll have to catch some hungry browns after we get the meadows drug and ready for water. |
