My 7 year old son got his target buck Saturday morning. We have been preparing for this moment for a while and I'm not sure that he slept at all Friday night. What is really cool is that my mother was the guide as I had to guide a teal hunt Saturday morning. I got the call close to 8 that they had let an arrow fly after having the deer in view for 20 minutes or so. She was concerned that the shot was a bit high but thought it should have gotten lungs. I wrapped up my teal hunt and we started the search about 2 hours after the shot. Very little blood but I found him dang near immediately piled up in some tall grass. Ended up being a double lung shot. I can't explain the amount of relief and emotion I felt when I walked up on him. It doesn't get any better.
We did get a pretty cool trail cam pic of him running off after the shot.
I know the images are sideways, someone please help me correct it.
