Give it a week and you may be able to pull some mighty fine strips of jerky off those tracks.

...all jokes aside, that was brutally heartbreaking to watch. Figure most of you guys are like me.....heartbroken everytime I see deer roadkill.....wasted dinner on the hoof....

Y'all should see what trains do to people.

I had two people hit by trains when I was on the AFD.
Coincidentally, both calls were in a 24 hour period(two different parts of Atlanta and I was working a 48 at two different stations). Caught one on Engine 16 and one on Rescue 15.
Cut one dude in half at the waist and sealed him shut like pinching a raw biscuit.

I'm with the rest of the crowd that thought it was tough to watch. Seems like it would be easy enough to fence off the tracks I imagine the cost would be pretty high not to mention the snow that would pile-up in the winter would make it almost irrelevant.

Hmm...definitely would have made the caribou scene in The Polar Express more interesting.

Pronghorns for the most part can't jump, and they also require vast ranges. They would die against that fence as opposed to just move the other direction. It's happened many times before. See Wytex post.

                              The conductor's lament

I'm not allowed to run the train
                              The whistle I can't blow
I'm not allowed to say how far or fast the train can go
I'm not allowed to let off steam
                              Can't even ring the bell
But let the **** thing jump the track
                              Then see who catches hell

What the heck! Get out of the way you dummies. Their survival instincts suck.
