I like the island top. How did you make it white? I really like the rock on the front on the island. Wish I had done that to mine.

The concrete is a white mix. I thought long and hard on the island. I am always thinking about different ways to build things and decided to go with rock to tie in with the wood stove alcove. My other choice was to do shaker style wood panels wrapped around it with more storage.

I thought by making the front with a radius it would be different. It 's different alright as it made construction a bit harder for me. I don't have anything planned out really, the cabinets and island are fly by wire. Just an idea drawn on a board or piece of paper and built. The result is it takes me longer to do things. Things to bite me in the butt but I chalk it up as experience. My wife wanted it bigger if you imagine that but is very happy with what it turned out to be.
