Default Roberts does it again

The U.S. Supreme Court granted an injunction Wednesday evening against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s restrictions on religious services in a 5-4 decision that saw Justice Amy Coney Barrett with the conservative majority — and Chief Justice John Roberts siding with the liberal minority.

Curious,
How does a SC Justice get impeached? Through the house..>then>...Senate like the POTUS?

Dem House won't do that. IMO

You are correct. Same process as the President or any other Federal official for that matter. Simple majority vote in the house, Senate takes up the hearing, and then removed.

At this point is anyone really surprised at his rulings anymore?

It’s OUR problem that he doesn’t seem to understand freedom of religion and freedom of assembly.

Pretty black and white. Doesn’t talk about “pandemics” in our constitution as a reason to deny someone’s rights.

In case you need a reminder:

It would be political suicided for any member of the house or senate to vote against impeachment if he was found guilty of participating in Epstein's under age sex slave operation.

Exactly. And when the party that wants nothing more than to control every aspect of our lives gets to make the definition of said pandemic, the Constitution becomes even more valuable.

Actually Roberts became Chief Justice by basically being in the right place at the right time (or wrong time depending on your belief of what the court should be). He was already in the approval process for O'Conner's spot when Rehnquist died. Since he was already in the pipeline, that pillar of conservatism George W Bush, changed the position he was nominated for to fill the CJ spot. Roberts had never run any type of court to justify the CJ position but the lack of qualifications wasn't an issue for GW and that's how we ended up with that clown in charge of the most important institution in our government.

it's funny to read folks on the internet who probably nearly failed Civics in 8th grade, say that a Supreme Court Justice doesn't understand or know the constitution. A justice who deems himself a constitutionalist at that.

They have time. Electoral college doesn't meet for a while and even after they do, those votes get sealed until Jan 5th I believe. Nothing is official before that regardless of what anyone tells you.

Since you’re the most educated person on TBH about constitutional law...

Please educate us “nearly failed 8th grade civics” people on the 1st amendment and how it applies to Governor Cuomo’s attempt to prohibit people from going to church.

Somebody has something on Roberts and one could plainly see when the pressure was started. If this is proven, he is a traitor to this country.

I saw a blurb once that the "John Roberts" on the flight list was a Fox news personality.

Kinda bit a little bit on that, not entirely.

Na, he's not important enough for "special" treatment.

If it is this apparent that you can see this, why hasn't anyone else noticed this and got Roberts removed?

When was this pressure first applied?
Can you give specific examples?

I don’t doubt that you would agree with Texansfan and the rest of the liberals that pepper this forum with your vile rhetoric...

However, it’s obvious that there is an assault on our constitution. This is just one example that we can site. It was a slam dunk decision, and should have been 9-0 if 3 of the justices weren’t liberal activists and 1 a compromised “constitutionalist”.

I would hope that even you could agree that you can’t limit someone’s ability to worship and assemble. It’s pretty black and white and our most basic constitutional right.

first real evidence of it was ACA.

He legislated from the bench.
Said the penalty for mandate was a tax.
The bill as written, which is their job to say ye or nay, the penalty was just that, a penalty

Just as I thought.
You side step and then name call.
All because you have no direct exact proof.
It is either that, or you don't know how to properly articulate it which is pretty much the same thing in the court of law.

You get your constitutional review from the back of a Corn Flakes box.
I wouldn't trust your rendition of things.

Gov Cuomo limited gatherings to quell the spread of a unknown airborne virus.

Trump did the same thing and nobody said nothing.

Enough with the name calling.

Yall say Roberts has been compromised because he doesn't give the answers you want.
