I think most of the conservative people live in the suburbs. That is way San Antonio voters seem to vote. I live in the city and am stuck with the liberal majority too.

That's usually how elections are won when "too many" of one person's voters cast ballots for them over anyone else

The good point is he didn't win, there will be a run off.
The other better point, if the others that didn't vote for Turner will vote for Busby in the run off Houston will have a new mayor!

Y'all can do this!

Sad to see the Metro bond passed.

Glad to see Turner will go into a runoff. Going to be a close one, going to be lots of dead people voting in the run off.

This.

Although I still think it's a long shot; going into this, I thought King should have dropped out. The issue is both Buzzbee and King essentially pull a lot of votes out of the same demographic. We live in what is considered one of the more conservative areas in Houston (yes, there are a few, but not many!) and this most definitely was the case.

Turner gets a lot of votes off skin color, but it sure doesn't help that a lot of the CA transplants and other yanks come here and bring their politics with them.

Here’s a big problem, people that should vote DON’T. I’d be willing to bet there are members on here that live in Houston that didn’t vote.

The Mayoral race will end in a run off between Turner and Buzbee. Houston still has a chance on this one.

I read it was somewhere around 230K voter turnout for a city with 2.3MIL registered voters... Kinda paltry

Inner city group think is what's ruining our country. Someone suggests an impractical, impossible, economically unfeasible or unrealistic idea and before you blink, a whole bunch of folks are nodding in agreement without the first thought of the merit of it. Pretty soon the media swoops in to support it and folks feel smart and it's at this point that it's too late for a contrasting opinion, the group has spoken. I believe this is one of the reasons Trump is so hated. He is willing to stand in a room full of people nodding yes and say no. Love him or hate him, he is that guy. The establishment hates that guy.

360,*** total votes for the statewide propositions. In a state with 28 million people. Talk about being ruled by the minority.

Wouldn't a vote for Tony Buzbee be a vote based on skin tone? He is only qualification is that he has made a boatload of money as an ambulance chaser and he isn't Turner.

I'm very glad I don't live in Houston or Harris county any longer!! My business is still located in Harris county but we're in Humble... Trouble is, the Houston/Harris county machine is so big and so important to the region, having demoKrauts running everything, it is just a matter of time until it's a s-hole region just like every other demoKraut controlled metro area in the nation...
