    Dark skinned deer?

    Anyone seen a deer like that? Please share some pics if so. Looks like a crossbreed with exotic maybe?Click image for larger version

        He is truly that dark. There is a leg for comparison on the right of the pic. My neighbor saw it too.

            If there is a melanistic deer you better shoot it lol they're like 10 or 15 times as rare as albino

                    So... if that deer
                    1) is whitetail
                    2) antler meets state requirements,

                    It can be shot. If it's not a whitetail it can be shot anytime. Correct?

                          There is a concentration of melanistic (dark) deer between Seguin and San Marcos. Here is one the cow man shot several years back--

                            Just looks like a grainy nighttime photo to me. Just looks like a WT to me too. WT and exotics don’t crossbreed. Just my observations though

                              Darker colored deer are melanistic (excess of skin/hair pigment). Whitetails can't cross with any exotic.
