Not many people get to see a Buck they hit before. That survived and appeared ok..Then 2w later put a killing shot on him...When ya opened the deer could you see old wound and understand how/why he survived???

Not a mad look its a puzzeled look!...cool story thx

Good story to share with others. Whitetails are very resilient creatures. Nicely done!

I did not end up skinning him, I just gutted him and took to the taxi/processor. However I did investigate the wound a little from the outside. It did not have any **** or infection I saw. It had almost completely healed over as well. I hit high and forward and the angle he was at, it seems like my arrow hit at the top of the shoulder blade and then backed out. The arrow I found in trail and that I saw sticking out of him when he ran off had about 3 1/2 inches of muscle matter only. My mechanical broadhead was destroyed though. He survived because I didn't hit anything vital. He was a tough critter and I was one lucky guy to get another shot.
