Colorado Bend state park hunting

Gonna head down on Tuesday with my dad for a rifle hunt. Anyone been hunting there recently? Going to be able to shoot a couple deer to fill the freezer. We are gonna camp since it seems a ways away to a hotel.

It’s a very pretty park. If you can get towards entrance you will have better shooting lanes

Yes area 1 which is first on right as you enter is the best area due to more open. It is also the largest so usually they will put a larger group there. We had 4 in our group last year and that’s where they placed us. They may put a group of 2 there along with another hunter or two. They didn’t give us options though. They assigned for us and likely with COVID everything is already assigned before you get there. That’s the way most places have done this season. Most of the blinds are just brush blinds so a popup can be useful if you need to stay out of weather.

not sure of the unit designation but there are always lots of deer at the trail head that goes to the falls
