The Bucks Have Started Scraping Hard !!!

I just walked the edge of the soy bean field behind the house. I had not walked it all summer. There has been a group of bucks living in the timber strip that lies between two bean fields and a corn field just north of the house. I would see them right at dark and get pictures most every night.

There were 8 scrapes in the first 150 yards along side of the bean field. I saw all I needed to see and got out of there.

I noticed some branches and brush hung up in a couple of the the bucks antlers last week.

They have already started acting different and are moving off their summer feeding pattern. It is starting to feel like deer season up here.[emoji106]

Its a young one. Mama is usually right there defending it. Not sure where she was that night. Probably close by.

Seen a couple big scrapes scouting Sam last weekend.

I have a ton of deer where I live and hunt. We are overloaded with fawns and triplets this year. That being said I see them with their mothers everyday including last night. However, this am I sa a group of 5 doeT the house and no fawns in sight. I wander if they kicked them off due to this cold front and pre-rut for momma to get some lovin?

Mock Scrape

Not to highjack but I've been giving some thought to making a mock scrape. How well have those worked out for you in the past?
