    Thoughts on this dilemma....

I try to keep my nose out of other's business, but that's hard to do sometimes. I got a neighbor who has an Axis fawn (old enough to survive on it's own) in a 10x10 dog pen with no cover of any kind. On a daily basis I see the dang thing slamming into the fence trying to get out and even had it calling for it's mother the other day. The neighbor does not need a deer, let alone any more pets. They don't take care of the pets they had before the deer in the first place.

    options.....

    1. do nothing and leave it alone cause it aint my business.

    2. open the dog pen and let the deer go when they are not home. (would be easy to do with leaving no trace it was me)

clarifications- I have talked to game warden and Local authorities that all agree the deer should not be in this situation but there is nothing they can do.

Man, I see this all the time, and hate it for the different animals.
I don't really feel it's my place to throw a wrench into someone else's life though.
One of my customers is a really great guy with a huge heart, in his 50s, adopted a couple kids, helps different charities, etc..and loves dogs.
He has a small rescue operation.
The dogs would be better off dead, or left in their original condition, whether that be running wild or in someone else's cage.
It's pitiful how they have to live, there are so many.
    Hate even going there really.

May open a can of worms that you want nothing to do with, but aspca is the people to call.

Have you talked to the neighbor about it?

I'd just do number 2 and you and the axis will both feel better.

No way I'd set foot on their property. Security cam, game cam. You just never know. And I do believe penned exotics fall into the same category as livestock.

                          I’d call the game warden.

as stated in original post, already did. nothing they can do. Axis are not game animals of the State of Texas and they have no authority over them
