I don't think any of the other kids on the team care when their teammates opt out. Kids are just protecting their "investment." You would do the same. If anything, kids opting out just helps accelerate the idea that bowl games are stupid and Division 1 football should have a playoff just like FCS/D2/D3.

Bowl games aren't necessarily stupid(there are obviously too many) but there should definitely be a playoff.

My biggest gripe with th other than being weird and unable to connect with players (see awkward as he** handshake sequence last night) is the lack of development of players. He can get out of the way and have someone competent call plays but the player development is bad, real bad. I remember watching the Georgia bowl game thinking Horns have some huge talent coming, 2 years later and sos. If the kids that showed promise last night are still under his watch in two years they’ll probably be beating the crap out of some pac 12 team in San Antonio the week after Christmas.
