Got it again today. This morning the water had soaked in and the deer stomped it up pretty good. Then it rained again. Dang good to see after this dry winter.

Knee & Hip problems made getting up the 10' stairs a torture this past year so I need an alternative. "Gettin' Old ain't for Sissies" as my late Dad used to say and he was right. Hope this new year is a great one for all. We are located near Robert Lee so anything in the area would be great. NO tower needed...Kuma I’m guessing you’re wanting to remove it after the season? We bought a nice wood one this year that was 6x6 The reason to put it on a trailer is to switch positions, hunting areas, during the season. It would stay on the trailer. Biggest reason again is for easy access and not have to climb blasted ladders or stairs. Oh.....Son is at our Robert Lee place and called to say a good rain the past 2 days!!! Lord knows we need it as all but 2 of our ponds/stock tanks have been dry for a long time!! |

Glad we got some rain out West!! We have another 8 tons of protein ordered to get the body weights of these rutted down deer back up. As a lease we had one heck of a season. Really looking forward to this next one. Lots of great potential.

Made a quick stop today. Few slightly muddy spots still. Was nice to not have a dust cloud follow you everywhere. I could see a little green grass starting to spring up they the dead brown grass. Should help get things kicked off. Especially if it stays mild like it has been.

just finished our first season outside sterling city and love this area. Lease is great with really good deer numbers and some great potential. So based off this thread and some others we've changed our mind from introducing cottonseed this year and are just gonna run some protein stations.
Anything else we should be getting together as an attractant? Looking at a couple fall food plots, need to get a soil test |

Thanks guys. We lucked out and got on a lease with my dad’s buddy. They’ve been doing a great job managing for a really long time. It’s way different than our old place in Foard Co. I see more deer every sit that I would over an entire season up there!

Same with us, though it is so thick we don't find that many sheds. Saw plenty with headgear still on including a bachelor group of 7. Did see some that had shed the last weekend of general season.

Well ****. I called the Wall Co-op for today's cottonseed prices, and they are no longer selling. All inventory is under contract, won't be ginning again until late October.

We weren't real impressed with the cotton seed anyways, gave it a couple years and the deer just got fat, horns didnt change. Switching over the alfalfa hay and whatever mother nature provides.
