Nice blade. Probably middle archaic. 4000 years old would be an educated guess.

Nice, if you have an opening on your lease, I'll help you look for some more.

Thank you GarGuy, was hoping you'd chime in. Do you agree with BB33, Desmukes? Trying to get educated and looking for more.

Very nice. Much more talented Indians than we had on our place.

                  Could be a Refugio also.

He could actually be correct but my gut feel is that it is a blade not a projectile. I like it. Probably was in a bone handle that took a long time to degrade. You can see the color change where it was in the hafting.

It is a desmuke without a doubt. Nice find!

In south Texas 90% of the point you will find will be a triangle or teardrop shape. The triangles will be Tortugas or Matamoros and the teardrops will be abasolos or catans (the smaller ones listed second). The teardrops with squared off shoulders (almost diamond shaped) are desmukes.

BTW, that is one of the better desmukes I have seen.

It looks like a desmukes. Its big though thus my feel that it might be a blade instead. You know the points down there so i bet you are right. Huge for the type.
