    Cool Find, Rocks!!

Went to the deer lease and found a bunch of newly exposed rocks from water run off. I know what petrified wood is, but this has a quarts type material inside, also cool sand stone rocks w petrified wood through it. Petrified wood has 2 diffrent colors. White and dark orange. Also found some very smooth rocks at the bottom of the run off.

No expert but some of that looks very much like volcanic activity. My Aunt's ranch on Plum creek near Lockhart had some really cool stuff and some looks like your finds and was explored by UT wiz folks and students who identified a lot. And of course lots of arrow and spear points. Interesting finds. I collect odds and ends but know little.

Cool phoneman, don’t know much about any of them but I sure would pick up all those things too. I’m sure someone here knows about these items, kinds of rock, etc. What area is your lease around? Creeks, river close by? Ever find any points made of some of that kind of rock? Good close up pics too.

Clip the buttset to it, see if it speaks of history?

That white and orange sandstone rock looks like the coral I find in South Texas.
