I don't remember the recipe exactly off the top of my head but that is very, very close to the recipe I use. I will admit that we eat Grands biscuits way too often just to save time and mess but I make homemade biscuits as often as I can. No comparison to canned.

Common gummy edibles are one thing. (I still prefer flowers, due to the less likely occurrence of "over-dosing.")
I would have a bad time if someone medicated the butter in my house. We use a LOT of butter throughout a regular day in my house. Maybe that'd get my kids to calm the EFF down though.. lol

Yes you can use crisco. I like to use lard cause I believe it makes them a little flakier and less dense.
