Was told to use it as your HAND CORN so I bought some at a feed store that's in route going to my lease last week and put some out to see what happens. I bought the persimmon and it smelt really sweet. Made me wanna grab a handful myself HA.

Over the years of me pouring it out during late July thru mid September they would literally knock out a 50lb bag within a week. Now closer to October they wont hit it as hard but yet still come to it at times before they start on the corn. That's when I dump just a little out at a time. When its heavy rains it does make a mess and hardens up but I learned my lesson closer to hunting season not to dump out as much to keep it from getting ruined before they clean it out. There is such a thing as the 'Rice Bran Bag' which is kind of setup like a Pipe feeder which I will buy soon so that I can dump a whole bag during the season and not worry about the dew or weather itself if comes to pouring rain.

Can you put the rice bran in a spin feeder or will it get gummed up?

If I'm up there for a couple of days I would normally just dump about 1/4 of the bag per day depending on how hard they're hitting it. Also, I just bought some 'Bait Corn' just last week and put some of that out and see what kind of action I get with the camera. Won't know the outcome of it till next Friday morning. Cost of it was $8.49 for a 40lb bag.
Flavored ice bran or regular?

I've used just the regular rice bran over the years till a few weeks ago I threw out peanut butter flavor. I dont see a difference on which gets hit the most. So I'll just keep with the regular rice bran.

Just headed out to the lease at lunch to check my cameras and still no shooter just small bucks, does and hogs for me in Anderson county.

However, I did notice the back tarsal glands of the does are changing color and getting darker!

I saw a good one this morning, but by the time I figured out exactly what he was, and that nothing was broke, he was gone. He came by about 9:30 cruising for does. After the hunt I checked cams to see if I had any pics of him, and what a surprising check it was.

Let's rewind about three months. I just got on this lease and immediately started feeding. I wanted to get an idea of what was around. Up until the camera check today, I have had exactly 2 pictures of a buck, and they were both of the same buck. Pretty, but not a prospect for this year. I don't know how many bucks my camera took pictures of this week, but there are several. The first buck is the one I saw today. I've gone from just sitting in the woods, to now doing some serious hunting.

Found lots of bucks this week! One I want my daughter to take as her first deer, a baby 10 that I found last year ( I pray he makes it 2-3 more years) 2 shooters on new small property.... and rumors the buck I feared the neighbor guy shot and lost is alive and well ( no proof myself yet). If I find him again he will be the only buck I will hunt

Finally back in the woods. We couldn't hunt last weekend and its been a long two weeks since the opener. Hopefully we can get momma on her first deer. She shot her first hog opening weekend. Her view and 1 of 3 spots I will be hunting. Lots of fresh tracks on the lease road so it looks like there moving decent.

Appears hes now a 4 point. 2 weeks ago he was a decent 8. Guess he broke off fighting

Reckon he could be legal if theres a piece of main on that side. But hes getting a pass from us and most of the neighbors wont shoot him either. He got lucky and so did we. Prolly get another year out of him easier

Back in the summer on this new place I cut a trail barely big enough to walk through connecting all food plots together. A “cruising trail” to funnel deer where I want them. This place is so thick that a knife would be easier than a bow. But I have 2 shooters using it as well as several doe

Haven’t see him since June 29 on far end of property in my bean field. Then oil traffic moved in and scattered everything like a covey of quail. He grew a bunch since then. Same trail, goes to 3 plots. This is 40 yards from middle

One of our new plots I designed on this place way too many turnips for my liking. Maybe we will have a super cold winter...all other plots are about right. I planted them separate because of size of seed. Lesson learned. This was @ 2 lbs per acre too dressed. I’ll do 3/4 next time if I even do them again. I hate them and see almost zero use typically from them. These are a forage variety and a new place... maybe these deer will like them
