Any word on 915 between Eldorado and Mertzon. I heard it was damaged a few weeks ago due to flooding.

Anyone going to try and face the weather this weekend out west to hunt? On the fence about it.

This deer was also known 6.5 + and has had protein for the last 3 years. He weighed 170 on the hoof. I just figured that was average for the area.

I will be heading out there Friday night. Conditions are less than ideal with the rain in the forecast and way too many acorns on the ground, but beats sitting at home. Trying to stay optimistic with the cooler temps.

Headed to Concho county in the morning. Not the way you draw it up but cold beer and college football will help pass the time if its a rainout.

deer still move in wet weather. unless your place has the possibility of flash floods or locking you in. then, don't risk it.

Sure they do but tearing up lease roads for the landowner and getting mud in every nook and cranny of the cabin and vehicles is less than ideal considering all the acorns and green on the ground and low feeder activity. I have done my time in the rain....and its a hard pass for me unless there is a stoopid big deer on camera and even then its questionable. Light rain/drizzle sure ....Heavy rain....no thanks..

I live 20 minutes away but with 3 kids under the age of 9 I really have to pick and choose hunting time...that being said, my favorite is hunting heavy rain and being in the stand when it quits, that's a magical time for sure. Just don't know when/if it's going to quit this weekend!

Gotta agree. I love hunting in the rain/drizzle, but it ends up on everything and the roads rutted up until we get another one. One year we decided we would take the trailer and set it up during a downpour. It looked like the entrance to a new rig site after we were done. Horrible idea

Same here on distance,I live close to my lease.
The projected chances are pretty strong so if it rains heavy and for a long time it will be miserable to deal with. Living far away from the lease is more of a risk on wasting time and effort on a trip for sure.
Iíve had good luck though before weather changes and during rainy days so Iím going to at least get a hunt in this evening.

So I ended up going. Total waste of time. Cleaned up camp a little then sat in the stand last night. 6pm landowner's son drives right by my stand on his gator with his dogs running next to him. Needless to say I didn't see a single deer. Landowner said he didn't know I was there. I texted on my way and drove right past their house on the way to camp so I find that hard to believe. His son is a 40 yr old that should know better then to drive around a lease during prime time. So instead of wasting anymore time I packed up and headed 5.5 hrs home at 4am. After the season I'm done with the place. We had some of the same issues with his family last yr during Thanksgiving.
