Lol!!! Clemson is locked and loaded for next year. LSU has a mountain of change to deal with but will be in the hunt. Auburn recruits are going to keep them in the hunt. Aggies are not there yet but have a good seat on the bus. Georgia will fix their issues and will be looking for lots of upsets.

229 days

Off-season workouts in full swing.

Lots of work at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Among the work is moving the Press Box to the East side. This makes no sense to me unless the fix is in to have all night games.

I think currently few over 85.

According to the whiney young Texas fans on the boards and Facebook pages Tom Herman will be out by the end of 2020. He made all the wrong hires for his coaching staff. Not getting Longhorn great Frank Okam the other day was the final nail in his coffin.

I saw both the Horns and Aggies listed in the top 10 dark horses to make some noise.

I'll reserve judgement until after TX/OU.

I think we'll be a little better but not much. Hopefully oline will improve. Players to watch this season: Smith, Spiller, Wydermyer, Cupp. Mond will be under center and have a marginal year. However, I'd love for one of the young qbs to beat him out for the starting gig. I'll really be looking forward to the 2021 season when Mond has gone to the XFL!

I also saw Mond on a list of best returning QBs. Of course Ehlinger was top 5.

I must be missing that talk. Hell I thought he did a great job as a whole. Okam has been coaching 3 years. He went to the pros following a proven coach that believes in him and he’s used to. Can’t fault Herman for that.

The others seem to be better than what they had as a whole.. hopefully that shows next year.

I'm optimistic. The D should improve greatly.

I think he made some pretty good moves. Signing day 2 is a couple weeks out and TH is probably going to add around five more prospects.

TJ Rushing hired to be Aggies DB coach. Was on Memphis staff with Norvell, then went to FSU last month with him, but is coming to A&M now instead.

Don't know much about him except he's 36, graduated from stanford, won a super bowl with the colts, coached at Arizona state then Memphis, and the last two years at Memphis his secondary was ~25th in the country is passing defense efficiency.

LSU will be fine. Looking forward to what Coach O does in the off-season. It will be interesting on the DC pick. Offense should be awesome again.
The new coaches in the SEC should be very entertaining, pre and post game interviews will be hilarious.

Hearing LSU offered Bo Pelini. That might be a tough pull as he is making $2.8 million at Youngstown St as the HC in his hometown.

Bo Pellini is who the insiders are saying was offered the DC position at LSU. Ball is in his court now

Also heard they were talking to Kris Richard who was a DB coach for the cowboys last year and previously a DB coach and D coordinator for the seahawks.

When Texas plays LSU in week 2, their D better look like they did in the bowl game against Utah. If not, they need to give TH the hook and start the search for a real coach.

Richard would bolt for the NFL the first chance he got. Need an up to date DC that can also recruit. Hoping for the Wisconsin DC. Make him say no. Bo concerns me with his bipolar actions in the past. Not real excited about him. Also heard Gene Chizik interviewed.

Sounds like the price of poker is going up!

Yep, looks like LSU has offered Pelini. He was really good while he was at LSU before but he is pretty much a certified lunatic. LSU is also talking to Curtis Johnson the saints passing game coordinator and old Tulane head coach. He has lots of ties to New Orleans and could continue the spread flawlessly. Oh and Aggies quit trying to steal LSU coaches every year. Lol at thinking Corey Raymond would leave coaching DBU to coach A&Ms secondary.

Heís more than a decent DC. He was a really good one when he coached under Miles at LSU. The question is can he have the same transformation coach O had and calm his temper and not lose it on players and the media.

Yep he was the DC for LSUís 2007 NC. A week later he became the head coach at Nebraska.

Bo Pelini, one of the most respected and innovative defensive minds in football, will coach his final game with the Tigers against Ohio State in the BCS National Championship Game after being named the head coach at Nebraska on Dec. 2.

Pelini spent three years with the Tigers, establishing LSU as one of the nationís top defenses during that time. In each of his three years with the Tigers, Peliniís defenses ranked No. 3 in the nation in yards allowed. LSU also ranked No. 3 nationally in scoring in 2005 and No. 4 in 2006.

In three years with the Tigers, Peliniís defenses have produced four NFL Draft picks along with six first-team All-America selections, which includes defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey and safety Craig Steltz in 2007.

Featuring an aggressive style that puts his players in position to make plays, LSUís defense ranked among the top 10 in the nation in three categories in 2007 ? No. 3 in total defense (283.8 yards per game), No. 3 in pass efficiency defense (96.16 rating) and No. 9 in pass defense (180.8 yards per game). LSU also ranked among the top two in the SEC in five categories.

Last year, LSUís defense thrived in its second year under Pelini, leading the SEC in six categories and ranking among the top five in the nation in total defense (No. 3 at 242.8 yards per game), scoring defense (No. 4 at 12.6 points per game), pass defense (No. 3 at 145.7 yards per game) and pass efficiency defense (No. 3 with a 92.2 rating).

In 2006, the Tigers had streaks of 16 and 10 quarters without allowing a touchdown and they also limited opponents to only 27 first quarter points and just 87 first half points the entire season.

In addition, the 242.8 yards LSU allowed per game last year on defense was the fewest surrendered by a Tiger team since the 1976 squad allowed 233.1 yards per game. Also, the LSU secondary gave up only 145.7 yards passing a contest a year ago, the fewest since the 1990 Tigers allowed 126.8 yards per game.

LSUís 2006 defense also produced a pair of first-team All-Americans in free safety LaRon Landry and Dorsey. Landry went on to become the sixth overall pick by the Washington Redskins in the 2007 NFL Draft.

Pelini made an immediate impact in his first year at LSU, taking over a Tiger defense that ranked among the best in the nation the two previous years and making them even better. With an attacking style, Pelini's 2005 defense ranked among the top 10 in the nation in four categories, including No. 3 nationally in total defense (266.8 yards per game), scoring defense (14.2 points per game) and pass defense efficiency (96.3 rating). LSU also ranked No. 6 in the nation in total defense (91.5 yards per game).

Pelini's defense allowed seven points or less six times, including holding Miami to only three points in the 2005 Peach Bowl. The Tiger defense also held opponents out of the endzone in the first quarter 11 times in 13 games in 2005.

LSU's most dominating defensive performance came in the season finale against Miami as the Tigers limited the Hurricanes to 153 yards of offense and only six first downs in the 40-3 victory. In the second half, the Hurricanes mustered only three yards of offense as they were held without a first down for the final two quarters.
