Oak cove is great. Could use some rain this spring. If weather is good you could fish the bridge and some timber near by even in a kayak or small rig. Heck you can get to the bridge just using your trolling motor.

My wife and I just bought a house on 4 acres on Richland Chambers outside of Streetman. I have a 1860 Grizzly Tracker that I need to get running (engine shot). But I can’t wait to start exploring that lake and looking for crappie. I’m sure I’ll be on here asking for advice.

Awesome! I would get a guide and learn a little about the lake. It is huge. You will have nice south wind fishing down there. Not a lot of boat ramps on that side but no biggie.

Richland Chambers is not far from me! Depending on wrapping up the end of school year I may try to come out and get some lessons!

I know that lake is huge, comparable to a small bay system. I'll definitely take a guide or three for several species of fish before I even think of trekking out on my own. We have HOA boat ramp two minutes from the house!! We are way back in a cove, when the lake is full I'll have about 5' of water off my dock, but when it is low our cove kinda turns into a muddy creek that I could walk across.

No matter what, I'll know I'll have fun exploring that lake.

I've been fishing that lake for over 25 years. Been going for a week in April for that long. It's a great catfish and hybrid lake too and it's full of speed Perch

Not that I remember, but it would be no problem. There is plenty of places to get out of the wind.

I'm running my boat trailer axle on borrowed time. I've been staying close to home just in case it gives out. This thread is inspiring me to replace it soon so I can maybe make this trip.

My group canceled on me last night so I went to look for a new area.
Caught one here and one there. Quit at 10 fish but it was 10 mighty fine ones.
Several over 2 pounds, best 2 pounds 11 oz.
