New Public Hunting opportunity in Texas

The Neches refuge is working on a plan to allow hunting. Comments in support would help greatly.

    Done!

I'm all for more public hunting opportunities here, so this is great news.

Will comment! Would this be good to go for this upcoming season, or would it be implemented into the draw system for next season?

I wonder if it will be put on the tpwd draw hunts like hagerman or if it will be a stand alone process.

Looks like it would be an e-postcard hunt like the Trinity River NWR.

Thanks for the heads up! More public land is always better. Anybody ever been on the other side of one of these public comment periods? It's interesting to see how much weight "the public" is given in different fields (e.g. neighborhood street design proposal, regulatory rulemaking, pipeline approval, etc)

                            Wasn’t this previously a WMA?

Still is. And still will be. It's a Federal WMA opening up more opportunities.
