It will be interesting to see what they do with the AP and the Coaches Poll and how they interject teams once the Big 10 starts playing.

This puts a ton of pressure on the Pac 12 now.

They can play all they want. They shouldn’t be allowed in the playoff unless they start playing double headers to catch up.

I was glad to see the Horns show-up and do what they're suppose to, that hasn't been a given lately. Receiving crew is gonna be fun to watch, as well as the RB's. DB's have a chance to be stellar if they can stay healthy. Anybody heard anything on Josh Thompson?

If that's the case they shouldn't be eligible for the playoff. Everyone else is playing 10 plus CCG.

In a normal year , none of the conferences all play the exact number of games....usually 12 or 13

with some playing Div 2 opponents in late November....so there is that

The P5 play the same number of games in a normal year. Yes, some stoop to playing FCS. The 13th data point in a normal year is the CCG.

The ACC (11), SEC (10) and Big 12 (10) teams each have at least 10 games scheduled. It's not their problem the B!G has egg on their face.

Push? The number of games have to have some bearing on the weight of the schedule and how they rank teams. They may get a team in, but... If and this is a prime year for it. The SEC gets 2 in and the ACC gets 1. Should a Big 12 team go undefeated, they're in (period). Once again, leaving the B!G out.

They could follow the SEC's lead and play a 10 game conference schedule.

You can bet your *** they (committee) will take it into account. But, I also think that should tOSU do so. It would prevent the SEC from getting 2 teams in. This is all hypothetical BS.

The Big 10 will play 9 games (8 plus a conference championship game). All of their teams will play 9 games as they will match up seeds from each side of the conference and play an extra game.

The committee will use extra games as data points, they always have. I think it makes the margin for error slimmer in the Big 10 than in years past, but they will be right in the mix unless the Big 12 goes undefeated and there is a 1 loss Big 10 team. That is where it could get dicey.

That's more appealing in some ways. Like Bowl pecking order, not so much CFP.

Yup. Itís called injuries vs rest. Also, preparation for the lesser opponent takes just as much time, while the team that didnít play ďcupcakesĒ was preparing for you.

The true unknown is going to be if a team has to have a no contest and has a limited number of games on the their resume. Would you put in a dominate 7-0 Ohio State Team over a 10-1 Big 12 team? It is going to be an interesting, weird year.

Depends if they beat mich, wisc, Penn st, Nebraska, Minnesota/Iowa, Michigan st.... all easily, then ya i personally probably would.... although i believe thatís too much discrepancy in playing time... teams that started now will get a two week bye and have more game footage an time to prepare going
Into the playoffs seems that to be more of an advantage imo

#BigTen's new COVID-19 policies for 8 games in 8 weeks leave almost no margin for error:
- Any player who tests positive must sit out 21 days
- If 5 % of team (usually around 120 players) - so if 6 players test positive, whole team stops practicing/competing for at least 7 days

tOSU was ranked #1 or #2 in all polls pre season......they go 9-0 they will be in the playoff....book it...over a 11-1 Big 12 team...SEC will not get 2 teams in this year...I just dont see it in this crazy year.....

As far as my team we had 2 players opt out due to the uncertainty with the season...now they are on the verge of opting back in.....
Wade is a difference maker in the secondary......

You don't ask everyone else to play 10, and let the cowards in with 8. Attrition is real, even with some nobodies mixed in. This is very basic stuff.

Default 2020 College Football Week 2

With 8 weeks to play 8 games it seems rather apparent that the chances of them completing a season are questionable at best.

ďSo, the Big Ten (1) doesn't have a built-in bye week, (2) has a 21-day suspension of play for players testing positive and (3) has a shutdown threshold of 5% positivity rate on a team.

Hang on to your butts.Ē
