Cutting barrel on Win 70 Featherweight 308

Would any of you cut the barrel on Win Mod 70 in 308?

This isn’t a pre 64 but is still a nice rifle. I just don’t like shooting rifles without a suppressor anymore. Do you think it’s value will increase the older Mauser action 70?

It doesn’t have a sentimental value. I got in a trade.

I’d do what made me happy. I don’t think You should be too worried about the value I doubt if it affects it all that much.

yep, cut and thread. Only rifles I couldnt bring myself to cut and thread were a few Rem700 VS in various calibers.

Do you think this will be a sought out rifle in the future? Like the pre 64?

What is the OD of the FWT contour where you want to cut it?

What is the outside diameter of the barrel at the length you want to cut it....you'll need to make sure it's thick enough to thread. Featherweight barrels could be too thin.

personally i would not, i would buy something new that is cheaper and possibly just buy a shorter barrel that is already threaded,,,, i would leave it alone unless the accuracy is terrible,, then what the heck , go for it

I’d cut it. No collector's value so make it what you want.
